Maryland Voters Want Special Elections.

40% of Montgomery County’s representatives in the Maryland General Assembly were initially appointed to their current office, rather than elected by voters – in District 15, it is 75%. No legislative district in Montgomery County currently has more state legislators that were initially appointed to their role than District 15.

We can mitigate the most negative effects of this choice with simple, specific changes to current MCDCC policy – elect Colin as District 15’s representative to the Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee in June 2026, bolster the efforts to restore voter selection for our representation.
